Are you looking to become a qualified trainer and assessor in vocational education?
Enrolment and progression in this nationally recognised qualification enables you to actively work towards the Certificate IV TAE and to deliver training and contribute to assessment under supervision.
Upon completion of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40122, you will become fully qualified to train and assess in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. You will be able to work within industry to deliver workplace training and assessment for a TAFE, private Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or within a secondary school delivering a vocational program (VDSS).

Do you bring a high level of industry expertise and already have an education degree, or a VE teaching job lined up?
You could opt for the Fast-Track Intensive Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (C4436FST) and become fully qualified as a vocational trainer and assessor in 6 months.
If you're intending to work under supervision while completing your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122), you can complete your qualification in either 6 or 12 months.
If you already hold an education degree, you are able to deliver training in any VET context under supervision. Those who also complete the Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00019) are able to train and assess in any VET context without supervision.

The learning experience of this certificate is organised into five clusters, allowing you to focus intensively on each topic before moving onto the next cluster.

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, delivered over 12 months, offers two learning delivery options. Students can opt for face-to-face or online delivery, both of which require scheduled contact hours with your tutor and classmates in addition to self-paced learning.
The Fast-Track Intensive Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, delivered over 6 months, involves a combination of intensive face-to-face teaching workshops and online assessment support sessions.
Learning activities in both the 6 or 12 month course options include discussions, quizzes, peer presentations, small group work, online research tasks, simulations and creating workplace documents. These activities and the participant manual form a core component of the course and the relevant activities will need to be completed prior to the live session each week.
